New Generation PS1
New patented technology inside Prevost’s quick release couplings combines safety, performance, and ease of use.
Prevost is pleased to announce their “New Generation PS1” coupler in the HVLP
( High Flow) profile. This is a completely new and innovative quick release coupling for compressed air.
What’s new and why did we make it? Unsecured ( Non-Safety ) couplers present a significant risk of hose-whip during disconnection. Employers are responsible for a safe working environment. Prevost manufactures safety-couplings complying with ISO 4414 and ISO 6150 standards, and these couplings are regarded among the best in the market. To comply with the norms a coupling should purge the compressed air on the supply side before releasing the plug. This is done using a double locking device.
The user has to operate a safety coupling twice to disconnect: A first time to purge the compressed air, a second time to release the plug. This 2-step operation is mostly done by any combination of rotating the sleeve from left to right and/or vice-versa or to push the sleeve back and pull it forward again, north, south east or west. This could be improved and made easier!
The new ESI coupling of Prevost uses the compressed air on the supply side of the coupling to sustain the first locking phase. Only when the compressed air is purged it will automatically click to the 2nd phase and release the plug. The user has to perform just 1 action, push the button, as easy as ringing the doorbell, no mistakes possible. Depending on the volume of compressed air the purge & release time will be a few seconds for a 10 meter 3/8” hose and practically nothing for an air tool.
This new generation of couplings is available today, and will give it’s users a long, safe and leak-free lifetime.
